Riley Gaines announced the birth of her first child, a girl named Margot on Thursday evening.
Gaines announced the birth in an article on social networks, showing her by holding the baby alongside her husband, Louis Barker.
“There is nothing that could have prepared me for a love like this. God blessed us beyond belief. Welcome to the world, Sweet Margot,” wrote Gaines in legend.

During her pregnancy, Gaines swam 1.25 miles to the infamous Alcatraz prison alongside American seals, combat veterans and her husband in July. She was 31 weeks pregnant at the time.

Gaines announced its pregnancy in June during a Turning Point USA event in Texas. The announcement came as she tackled the comments of the Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, who suggested that sheaths was the size of a “man” during a spout of social media on the issue of transminine sports athletes.

“How many men do you know that,” said Gaines on stage as she showed her bump and shared ultrasound on stage.
