Karachi: The High Court of Sindh suspended the notification of the University of Karachi on Friday which had canceled the law degree of the judge of the High Court of Islamabad (IHC), judge Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri.
Hearing a plea deposited by Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri d’Ihc, the SHC bench including judge Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and judge Mohammad Abdur Rahman, also prevented the University from taking other measures based on the recommendations of the union and the Fairmen’s Committee against the judge.
The IHC judge approached the SHC, seeking to declare the notification of the University of Karachi concerning the cancellation of his zero diploma and not avenue.
During today’s hearing, Professor Registraire of the University of Karachi, Imran Siddiqui, appeared in court and asked the time to submit an answer.
“We received the opinion the day before,” said Professor Siddiqui while looking for more time to answer.
“How long do you need to submit an answer?” Asked Judge Kalhoro.
Lawyer Salahuddin, representing judge Jahangiri, asked the court to suspend the notification of KU until the submission of an answer.
While accepting the request of the Professor of the Registraire Ku for more time, the court postponed the hearing.
