Many companies that pay for ransomware do not recover their data

  • Payment of ransom requests has in fact become less effective, VEEAM study complaints
  • Ransomware attacks cost millions of companies
  • Having an alternative infrastructure can reduce downtime

New research has said that fewer and fewer companies were recovering their data after paying ransom requests, making it even more expensive in terms of recovery.

The Veeam survey found only one (32%) which paid recovered their data in 2024, against more than half (54%) in 2023. On the other hand, the number of organizations recovering their data without paying more than doubled (14%to 30%) in the same period.
