The “shakti” cyclone is looming near the deep depression forms in the Oman Sea

A profound depression has been formed in the northeast of the Arabian Sea and is likely to intensify in a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours, the meteorological department of Pakistan (PMD) warned on Friday.

Once it turns into a cyclone, it will be called “Shakti” – which means strength – a title proposed by Sri Lanka.

The system is currently located about 400 km south of Karachi. PMD has said that he had already intensified in the last 12 hours, moving west and northwest, and is expected to strengthen himself more when he heads for the North Center Arabia in the coming 24 hours.

Under his influence, Karachi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Ththa, Sujawal, Tando Mohammad Khan, Hyderabad, Matiari and Jamshoro are likely to receive storms of dust and light to moderate rain with thunder this evening.

Winds near the Sindh coast can reach 55 km / h, with sea conditions ranging from high to very rough.

Fishermen was advised to avoid businesses on the high seas until October 5. On October 4, wind speeds around the system can increase to 125 km / h, while high seas waves are expected in the North Sea and the center of Arabia between October 3 and 6.

Earlier this week, PMD had published its third tropical cyclone alert after a low pressure system that brought the rain to Karachi moved from the Indian Gujarat region to the northeast sea of ​​the artist near the Saurashtra coast.

At the time, the system was approximately 310 km southeast of Karachi and was to intensify in a depression while moving west.
