The San Diego Padres season ended on Thursday evening, but they did not go home before letting the referees hear a bite.
The Padres fell to the Cubs of Chicago, 3-1, in a decisive match 3 of the Wild Card series of the National League, while the race in the lead did the final with a flyout for the central field player Pete Crow-Armstrong.
However, while the referees left Wrigley Field on the side of the first base – through the Padres canoe – several members of San Diego had to be retained after having become crazy about men in black.

The paadres were emptied entering the ninth, but ended the laundering with a Home Run in solo by Jackson Merrill. The next striker, Xander Bogaerts, worked fully the count when he saw a quick ball of 97 mi / h from Brad Keller who was below the area, but the referee of the marble DJ Reyburn struck him.
Bogaerts has practically fell on his knees because manager Mike Shildt also said something.
“Next year, it’s a hat tip in millisecond,” said Kevin Brown, a play-by-play man, referring to the automated balls and strikes that will be implemented in 2026.
Brown added that Reyburn “bailed out” Keller.

Keller then plunged two consecutive strikers, forcing the manager Craig Counsell to bring Andrew Kittredge, who withdrew the following two to obtain the backup and send the Cubs to the Division series.
After the final, several members of the Padres canoe were terribly close to the referees and gave them an ear as they headed for the bowels of the Chicago stadium.
It is difficult to blame UMPs, however, when the biggest padres stars have failed to appear in the biggest match of the year. The first three strikers – Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Arraez and Manny Machado – combined to go 0 for 11, while Yu Darvish granted two points before recording an outing in the second and was quickly fired.
“It’s not fun at all. We have definitely missed an opportunity,” said Tatis.

It will now be a battle between the central rivals of NL, the Brewers Milwaukee, for a trip to the NL championship series. To add juice pulp, Counsell managed the Brewers for nine seasons before leaving suddenly for the Cubs before the 2024 season.
