Afghan instability directly affects KP: CM Gandapur

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, said instability in Afghanistan and order in the province. He stressed that sustainable peace requires a dialogue with Kabul.

“Our armed forces, our police officers and our people have made huge sacrifices to eliminate terrorism. We salute the martyrs who have put their lives for peace,” he said, adding: “For a long-term solution, negotiations with Afghanistan are necessary, and it is encouraging that the federal government agrees with my proposal in this regard.”

He expressed these points of view while addressing participants in the 26th national security and war court under the National Defense University, who visited the house of chief, Peshawar on Friday.

The interim inspector general of the police, as well as the senior officials of the planning and development and financing services, also attended Reunion. During the interaction, the delegation was informed of the provincial administration, financial management, development programs and security measures.

Stressing the province’s challenges and opportunities, Gandapur said: “KP is rich in natural resources, but previous governments have failed to use them effectively. When we assumed the functions, the province was in the grip of financial and serious security challenges. Since the first day, we have adopted a model of economic self-relentlessness and invested massively in the sectors with great growth potential. ”

The chief minister said the provincial government, thanks to strict budgetary discipline, had generated billions of additional income in the last 19 months. He underlined the immense hydroelectric capacity of KP, noting that the government is working to exploit this energy for industrial development.

A dedicated provincial transmission line is also underway to provide affordable electricity to industries, aimed at generating new jobs. In addition, efforts are underway to explore oil and gas reserves for sustainable industrial growth.

On tourism, Gandapur stressed that the sector offers great opportunities to improve provincial income. The work is underway to establish integrated tourist areas of international standards. For rural employment, he said, livestock and agriculture have been priority and, for the first time, a mountain agriculture policy was introduced to strengthen agriculture in the hilly regions.

Stressing governance reforms, said the Minister -Chief, transparency and the provision of services remain the main priorities. “We use information and communication technologies effectively, and 29 sectors have already been digitized, with more progress,” he said.

On the issue of Afghan refugees, Gandapur noted that KP has welcomed them for decades, but their repatriation is a federal affair. However, he pointed out that the process should be carried out with dignity and care.

Regarding the merged districts, he said that the promises made when they integrate into KP remain dissatisfied. He reiterated the request for a new NFC prize to ensure that the province receives his legitimate share of resources.

Describing public protection initiatives, Gandapur said that 100% of the province’s population had received the Sehat card – health insurance for free medical treatment.

He added that interest -free loans are granted to Citizens for Home Construction, while the 14 billion rupees program was launched to support young people with start -up companies and technical training.
