Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that Pakistan’s position on Palestine is categorical and unshakable, adding that the government also plays an active role ” to ensure the release of Pakistani citizens detained aboard the world Flotilla Flotilla.
The Prime Minister made these remarks during a telephone conversation with Jamaat-I-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday. The two leaders exchanged opinions on the Middle East crisis, the situation in cashmere and the detention of Pakistani nationals by the Israeli authorities.
According to the PM office, Shehbaz highlighted the importance of an immediate judgment for hostilities in Gaza, calling at the end of what he called the “in progress massacre of the innocent Palestinians”. “Pakistan’s position on Palestine is categorical and unshakable. We have always raised our voice for our Palestinian brothers and sisters at each global forum, and we will continue to do it,” he said.

Reiterating the long-standing position of Pakistan, the Prime Minister underlined the support of a two-state solution, with borders before 1967 and the Al-Sharif quadier as Palestinian capital.
He added that eight Muslim countries made “active and concerted efforts” to ensure a cease-fire in Gaza. “We hope that these efforts will soon bear fruit, bringing peace as well as the long-awaited dream of an independent Palestinian state,” he said.
During the detention of the Pakistani aboard the world Flotilla Flotilla, notably the former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, the Prime Minister said that the government played an “active role” to ensure their release.

The two leaders also discussed the situation in cashmere, the Prime Minister affirming the federal government’s commitment to “play its total role” in peace insurance in the region.

Calling the attack on the flotilla and stopped “strongly condemnable”, Hafiz Naeem stressed that the case was of national importance and without limiting itself. He urged the government to solve the problem responsible for dialogue, while ensuring that the opinions of a few individuals are not projected as representing the entire Kashmir population.
