The negotiations between the Jammu Cachemir Pétoire Awami Action Committee (JAAC) and the federal government have finally borne fruit, with key questions and a final agreement which should be signed soon.

“The questions have been resolved with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir action committee (AJK). The final agreement should be signed soon. The last cycle of negotiations is underway. Public interest and peace are our priorities,” said Chaudhry.
Earlier, Chaudhry had announced that the second cycle of talks between the government delegation – sent to Muzaffarabad on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif – and representatives of JAAC were underway.
He said the government was firmly behind the rights of the cashmere people, noting that most of their requests, especially those in the public interest, had already been accepted. “The few remaining requests, which require constitutional changes, are under discussion,” he added.
The Minister stressed that violence was not a solution to any problem and expressed his hope that JAAC would continue to pursue its objectives thanks to a peaceful dialogue.
The government’s negotiation team included the federal ministers Rana Sanaullah, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Yousuf, Amir Muqam and Dr Tariq Fazal Charthry, alongside the Pakistani peoples leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and the former president of Ajk Sardar Khan.
The Official AJK government negotiation committee has also participated in talks. The JAAC delegation was represented by Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Raja Amjad Advocate and Anjum Zaman.
