Shehbaz promises to make Pakistan Hub for foreign investment

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high -level meeting on the economy and foreign investment in Pakistan on Friday, examining the global economic situation, foreign direct investment (IDE) and energy development projects, infrastructure, information technology and industry.

The Prime Minister said that the government’s most important priority was to place the economy on a solid and sustainable basis. He stressed that the private sector must play a central role in training economic activity and ministries and institutions directed to ensure full facilitation for international investors.

Shehbaz noted that the recent positive trends in the economy reflect growing confidence in foreign investors. He promised to transform Pakistan into a regional investment center through transparency, internationally aligned policies and rapid implementation. “Our current economic and financial reforms have given a new orientation to the economy. Thanks to innovation and transparency, the country is on the development path,” he said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the promotion of trade and investment has remained a central policy, adding that all the available opportunities would be used to generate a job and improve public well-being.

The meeting examined energy, infrastructure, IT and industrial projects, and attended by main ministers and head of the Army Gen Syed Asim Munir.
