Kuala Lumpur: The International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) conferred on Tuesday a doctoral diploma in philosophy in leadership and the governance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to the national building.

The occasion of the honorary diploma took place during a special convocation ceremony held at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization of the Kuala Lumpur campus of Iium, which was officiated by the constitutional chief of the university, Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

During the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart, Prime Minister Shehbaz is on an official three -day visit to Malaysia, in which he met Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and had interviews at the level of the delegation, in addition to addressing an investment conference.

One day earlier, the two countries had signed six agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation covering various areas, including education, halal certification, tourism and the fight against corruption.

In his speech of acceptance today, Prime Minister Shehbaz described the conference as a “great privilege and honor”, emphasizing his pleasure to be associated with the IIUM, an institution renowned for defending the integration of knowledge, faith and ethics.

Recalling his stays as a chief minister of Punjab, he underlined his service of four decades as a “civil servant” and noted that, now as a Prime Minister, he has remained determined to serve the nation with sincerity and unshakable resolution.

Recognizing honor with a “sincere gratitude”, he expressed hope that his presence at IIUM would further strengthen academic partnerships and collaboration between the university and the main higher education institutions in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that management was a sacred trust that should be exercised with honesty, sincerity, justice and transparent responsibility.

Stressing the challenges to which the Ummah Muslim called for unity, compassion and moral integrity and stressed the need to firmly hold Islamic values ​​and ethics to recover their legitimate place in the marketing of nations.

He described the youth population of Pakistan a blessing and underlined the responsibility to provide them with platforms to serve humanity suffering from compassion and commitment.

In his speech, Tunku Azizah said that for more than four decades, [Shehbaz] Sharif had demonstrated visionary leadership, discipline and compassion, dedicated to the transformation of life and to raise it from communities thanks to progress in terms of education, health care and opportunities.

“His initiatives, such as Punjab Education Endowment Fund, opened the doors of higher education to thousands that would never have dreamed of university education.

Deduing Pakistan’s long -standing friendship with Malaysia, she said that bilateral ties were further strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

This conference is more than a recognition of success. It is a celebration of values ​​that we hold dear: justice, service and excellence guided by faith,” she added.
