Arizona cardinals Head coach Jonathan Gannon is the subject of an investigation by the NFLPA after seeming to strike the ball carrier Emari Demermado after his expensive escape in the defeat of Sunday against the Titans of Tennessee, according to a report.
The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) told USA Today that it “investigated” the heated interaction of the touchline in the fourth quarter which came after Demermado abandoned the ball before reaching the goal line in what would have been a touch of 76 yards.

The score would have given Arizona an advance of 21 points at the end of the match, but instead, the ball bounced outside the back of the goal area, which led to a touch and a turnover. Titans Rallied from behind to win the match 22-21.

Videos on social networks have shown a tense interaction between Gannon and Demermerado. Gannon seemed to strike Demermercado in the median section, although he was not fully visible in the exchange captured during the broadcast.
Gannon discussed the situation Monday, saying that he “did not feel well” the day after the next day.

“So, during the team’s meeting, I approached, I apologized to Emari, I apologized to the team. I just told them that I was allowing the moment of what happened on me.”
The defeat of Sunday marked the third consecutive defeat of the cardinals.

“I try to be emotionally stable and calm because my work to solve problems during the match,” continued Gannon. “It is not really who I am, who I want to be, and I told the guys today. It is therefore a mistake of me.”
