Cody Johnson has canceled his 2025 performances.
The country singer, who is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the upcoming Country Music Association Awards (CMA), took to social media to announce the shocking news.
“While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum,” he shared, revealing he would need urgent surgery.
“The healing process will take several weeks and it is not possible for me to sing during this time,” Johnson added.
“I pray for a complete recovery so I can get well and get back to doing what I love,” he concluded.
Johnson had six dates left in 2025 on his current arena tour and will now return to the stage on February 4, 2026.
In mid-September, the Human The hitmaker canceled his Columbus concerts due to health concerns and wrote at the time:
“I came home Monday after my concerts in Nebraska, feeling good. On Tuesday, I felt like I had a slight cold. I took all the precautions possible: IVs, medications, I even sweated in the sauna… unfortunately today, I woke up without singing: severe cough, burning chest and throat.”
It is pertinent to mention that Cody Johnson has had a few successful years so far.
His latest album, Leather, won CMA Album of the Year in 2024 and 2025, in addition to Entertainer of the Year, he is also up for Male Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for I will love you with Carrie Underwood.
