The Prime Minister calls to expand the Pak-Saudian ties beyond defense cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for expanding Pakistan’s ties with Saudi Arabia beyond defense cooperation, urging to focus on trade, business and investment. He said the kingdom was fully ready to support Pakistan in promoting this common economic vision.

According to Express News, the Prime Minister organized a lunch at the Prime Minister’s house on Wednesday in honor of a high -level Saudi delegation. After the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz addressed guests, highlighting the strong and lasting ties between the two countries.

“We are gathered here as a family,” said the Prime Minister, recalling his political career for several decades and his previous visits to the Kingdom. “I visited Saudi Arabia for the first time in the late 1960s. I have been there several times since, but the recent trip to Riyadh was unprecedented.”

He praised the unshakable support that Saudi Arabia has brought to Pakistan over the years, especially in difficult times, qualifying the relationship of “unshakable and based on lasting commitment”.

Referring to the recent defense agreement between the two countries and qualifying it as formalization of their fraternal links, the Prime Minister has declared that the partnership would now focus on economic cooperation.

“Each Muslim is ready to sacrifice their life for the protection of holy places. Pakistan will always be ready to protect Mecca and Medina,” he said.

For the future, Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed the importance of transforming common economic aspirations into reality. “We will strengthen the links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia through business and investment. For this, the two countries must work in close collaboration.”

He added that joint trade, investment, research and development efforts would be a key objective in the future. “Today, we have the opportunity to learn from Saudi Arabia and we have to take full advantage of it. “He also praised the leadership of the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salmane, declaring:” his visionary leadership reshaped the Saudi company and opened new horizons “.

Speaking on behalf of the Saudi delegation, Prince Mansour Bin Mohammed Al Saud, who heads the visit team, reaffirmed the kingdom’s intention to deepen economic ties with Pakistan.

“We are here to attend the meeting of the joint Pakistano-Saoudian sales council,” he said, adding that before their visit, meetings had taken place with all the main Saudi ministers to discuss potential strategic projects in Pakistan.

The meeting has reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to deepen their partnership in all sectors, emphasizing a long -term strategic collaboration.

Prince Mansour assured that Saudi investors would benefit from all the facilities necessary to invest in Pakistan, thus reinforcing the will of the Kingdom to collaborate on long -term economic objectives.

At the same time, Prime Minister Shehbaz also met the president of the Saudi Council of Choura, Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh.

The president expressed his gratitude for warm hospitality and qualified the milestone defense agreement in long -standing relations between the two countries. He declared that the agreement reflects the fraternity deeply rooted between the peoples of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

He also stressed the importance of further strengthening parliamentary relations and called for increased cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries.

The two leaders agreed to promote regular exchanges of parliamentary delegations in order to strengthen institutional links and promote mutual understanding.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its Defense Agreement with Saudi Arabia, considering it as a step that will further strengthen economic, strategic, defense and commercial relations between the two brothers.

During the recent visit of the Prime Minister to Riyadh, at the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a “strategic mutual defense agreement”, declaring that “any aggression against one or the other country will be considered an assault against the two”.

The meeting also took place in the presence of the Darrier Ishaq Dar, the President of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, the Federal Minister Sardar Yusuf and other senior officials.
