Lately, there have been rumors about Dolly Parton that her health is not in good shape. In her latest article, she put those speculations to bed.
In a video captioned “I’m not dead yet!”, the country musician, in the middle of filming a commercial for the Grand Ole Opry, says: “I know lately everyone thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I work hard here. Either way, I wanted to reassure everyone.”
She continued, “I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith, I can always use prayers for anything and everything…but I want you to know that I’m okay. I have some issues as I mentioned.”
“At the time my husband Carl was very ill, it lasted a long time, then when he passed away I didn’t take care of myself,” adds the Jolene singer.
“So when I got there, the doctor said we need to take care of this, we need to take care of that, nothing serious.”
“But I had to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt where I get treatments here and there, but I wanted you, I know I’m not dying,” she notes.
Then, Dolly directly responded to online rumors about her health. “Have you seen this AI photo of Reba [McEntire] and me? Ooh, lord, they had Reba on my deathbed.
“If I was really dying, I don’t think Reba would be the one on my deathbed, she might come and visit me sooner, but anyway, there are a lot of rumors going around but I thought if you heard it from me you would know I was okay,” the 79-year-old adds.
“I’m not ready to die yet, I don’t think God is done with me and I’m not done working. I love you for taking care of me and I continue to pray for me,” Dolly concludes.
