Do you wish you could be on the court at a Lakers game? Put your Vision Pro back on and launch the NBA app

  • Some Los Angeles Lakers games will be streamed in Apple Immersion on Vision Pro
  • The games will be shot with Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras
  • Broadcasts begin in early 2026 via NBA and Spectrum SportsNet apps

Apple has already released a good deal of immersive content specifically designed for the Vision Pro. You can get up close and personal with Bono, or perform with Metallica, or peek behind the curtain at Yankee Stadium – although it hurts a little to write today after last night’s game – or stand alongside a herd of rhinos.

We saw a wide range of content, but I was waiting for something live – especially live sports. Seeing that Apple TV+ Friday Night Baseball capturing games with the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max gave me some hope, and now we have a confirmed release. In what could be the start of something new, some Los Angeles Lakers games will be streamed live in Apple Immersive for Vision Pro in the upcoming season.

It’s not every game, but for those streaming – exclusive to the $3,500 Space Computer – you’ll have access to views that put you right in the heart of the action. Special cameras supporting the format will be placed along the court and under each basket to give you perspectives that enhance immersion. Lakers games will be filmed using a special version of Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine Immersive Live camera.

To me, this looks like Apple is delivering on its promise – or at least starting to – because even in my first demo with the Vision Pro, I was treated to great close-up shots of a range of sports.
