But it was a certain response. The Robins have already snatched two titles from Wigan this season. The Super League Trophy, however, is the jewel in the crown. It is slightly ridiculous that Matt Peet’s men will never live up to the all-conquering Wigan side that won seven consecutive league titles, eight consecutive Challenge Cups and three World Club Challenges in the 1980s and 1990s, but victory at Old Trafford would cement their status as one of the greatest Super League dynasties of all time.
