The Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders ended a skid Saturday against teams ranked in the top 25 in the Associated Press poll with a 24-17 victory over No. 22 Iowa State.
Buffaloes fans at Boulder Stadium spilled out of their seats and onto the field after the victory, even as the public address announcer warned fans that the school might be fined by the Big 12 Conference for its role in the on-field assault.

Sanders was perplexed that the celebration could result in a fine.
“Is this a fine?” asked Sanders after the game. “Come on, man. It’s not good. … I want to see the kids rush the field. I love it.”
The crowd immediately ran toward midfield after Colorado star quarterback Kaidon Salter took a final knee to end the game.
“I mean, hats off to our security team. They do a good job walking me (to the locker room),” Sanders said. “But I love seeing him. I really do.”

Colorado could be fined $50,000 for the incident.
“How’s that for $50,000 to rush into the field?” Sanders said. “Wow. Shoot. I’m sorry. Wow, $50,000.”
Two weeks ago, the Big 12 fined Colorado $50,000 for directing profanities and religious slurs toward members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as BYU beat the Buffaloes 24-21.
