Keira Knightley revealed one of her early films that still grabs fans’ attention the most, even after more than two decades.
During a special screening of The woman from cabin 10 in London earlier in September, the 40-year-old actress revealed to People that Bend it like Beckham remains the film for which she is most recognized.
“I think it’s so amazing that a movie that was made almost 25 years ago is still the one that, if someone comes up to me, they talk about that movie,” she told the outlet.
“In particular, many girls play [soccer] now, and they want to come and talk about it,” Knightley shared.
She added: “So it’s amazing to be part of something that has, sort of, a legacy and this positivity around it.
The actress also reacted to the announcement of a Bend it like Beckham sequel, announced earlier this year by writer-director Gurinder Chadha.
Knightley admitted she was excited about the update, but didn’t confirm whether she was looking forward to returning to the role of Jules.
“I saw it on TV,” she said of the project. “So yeah, I mean, how exciting.”
