The Baltimore Ravens enter their bye week shockingly 1-5 after losing their fourth straight game, but reinforcements are on the way.
Lamar Jackson, who missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, is expected to return in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, head coach John Harbaugh told the media after their loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
“We’re going to have some healthy players coming back,” Harbaugh said, according to the team’s official website. “Our quarterback is going to come back.”

Harbaugh was asked if he knew “for sure” Jackson would be back.
“I mean, sure? I say so, but I don’t know,” he replied. “That’s how life goes sometimes. You can’t predict everything. It’s always the future, but that’s the hope.”

The Ravens have felt the loss of Jackson over the last two games, with their offense totaling just 13 points in that span.
Cooper Rush, Jackson’s backup quarterback to start the season, has been Harbaugh’s starter in these last two losses, and he has struggled to get things going. As the offense sputtered against the Rams on Sunday, Harbaugh called out Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, although that didn’t change much either.

Rush threw for 72 yards with one interception, while Huntley went 10 of 15 for 68 yards, while also rushing for 39 yards.
Jackson, a two-time MVP, will need to get the Ravens’ offense back on track if they want to return to the playoffs. It’s an uphill battle now given the record, but the Ravens know they have a “generational player” at their helm.
“You can’t replace him with anybody,” running back Justice Hill said. “Obviously getting him back will be a big step forward for our offense.”

In four games this season, Jackson has totaled 869 yards with 10 touchdowns to just one interception. On the ground, he ran for 166 yards with a score as well.
