- The third beta of iOS 26.1 is now available
- It includes a redesigned app icon for Apple TV, to accompany its rebranding.
- There are also hints that more third-party AI integrations could be coming soon, and there’s a new local capture settings screen.
The upcoming beta for iOS 26.1 is now available, and while it doesn’t include many changes from the previous beta, there are three notable changes.
First, as spotted by 9to5Mac, the Apple TV app has a new logo, which has a bit more color than the old one. That in itself might not seem very remarkable, but it’s part of Apple’s recently announced rebranding of the service, which is now simply called Apple TV rather than Apple TV+, and which Apple says has “a dynamic new identity.”
Presumably, this vibrancy will eventually extend beyond a more colorful app icon, but for now, that’s all we’re getting.
More AI options
Elsewhere in this iOS 26.1 beta, there’s code spotted by user @aaronp613 who suggests that Apple may soon offer third-party AI integrations other than ChatGPT. Right now, you can connect ChatGPT to Siri to get answers from the former to queries Siri isn’t suited for, but if you prefer a different AI – like Google’s Gemini – you’re out of luck.
However, in this iOS 26.1 beta, some text has changed from “Report a problem with ChatGPT” to “Report a problem with a third party”, suggesting that other third-party AI could become options.

This is something Apple first hinted at in 2024, but this text change is a sign that it could finally happen soon.
The only other iOS 26.1 beta 3 feature found is a Local Capture section on the settings screen. Spotted by user
Local Capture, if you don’t already know, is a feature that allows you to record audio and video from your end during a video conference call.

Anyway, that’s it so far in this latest iOS 26.1 beta, but previous betas have also added features and improvements, like a feature that makes it harder to snooze your alarms and some gesture controls in Apple Music.
If you want to benefit from these updates, you can download the latest iOS 26.1 beta right now, but we expect the final version to arrive very soon, so you might be better off waiting for that.
