Monad is gearing up for one of the most anticipated token launches of the year. Blockchain project Layer-1 has opened its MY airdrop portal, inviting eligible users to verify their status ahead of official token distribution.
Although the airdrop itself has not yet gone live, the Monad Foundation said users can now check their eligibility and connect their wallets, with the window remaining open until November 3, 2025.
“There is NO incentive to claim very quickly, so take your time. Triple check everything,” Monad co-founder Keone Hon told X.
The Monad Foundation said in a blog post that it will target around 5,500 core community members and 225,000 broader crypto users, rewarding those who have contributed to the development of the Monad ecosystem. Distribution will be done through a multi-track system covering five categories: Monad community, Onchain users, Crypto community, crypto and curious contributors and Monad builders. Those who qualify in several streams can combine their allocations, thus giving more weight to active participants.
The team also said it would combine on-chain activity data (such as DEX volume and NFT ownership) with off-chain verification through platforms such as Twitter, Discord, and Telegram.
The airdrop marks a step towards Monad’s upcoming mainnet launch, although the details of when this will happen and how many tokens will be allocated to these communities are still unknown. (Hon published on X earlier this year that there would be 100 billion MON tokens.)
