Pakistan would defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs
ISLAMABAD:
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday visited President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr and briefed him on the evolving security situation, including Pakistan’s “measured and appropriate response” to the Taliban aggression.
The president expressed full confidence in the armed forces, praising their “vigilance and professionalism” in defending Pakistan’s borders. “The nation is united with its military to safeguard the sovereignty of the country at all costs,” he said.
“President Zardari expressed full confidence in the strength, courage, capability and preparedness of the Pakistan Armed Forces,” the press wing of the President’s Secretariat said in a press release.
The President also reiterated that Pakistan will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
This latest outbreak marks one of the most serious confrontations between Pakistan and the Taliban regime since the group’s capture of Kabul in 2021, underscoring the growing tension in relations between the two neighbors.
