Government extends private Hajj booking deadline

Potential pilgrims can now submit their applications until October 22 as 4,500 places are still available

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has extended the deadline for submitting applications under the private Hajj 2026 program until October 22, shifting it from the earlier deadline of October 17, Pakistan’s Associated Press reported.

According to a notification issued by the ministry on Friday, all Munazzims (Hajj group organizers) have been asked to complete the reservation process for pilgrims within the extended time frame in accordance with the Hajj 2026 policy and plan.

Out of 60,000 places allocated for private reservations, 55,500 applications have already been received, leaving 4,500 places still available, the ministry stressed.

A ministry spokesperson urged prospective pilgrims to check the list of approved Hajj operators, available on the ministry’s official website before making any payment.

Applicants have also been advised to deposit Hajj fees only into official bank accounts of approved companies and ensure that they receive both a copy of the Hajj agreement and a computerized receipt once they book.

The extension aims to make it easier for those who were unable to finalize their application within the previous deadline and to ensure transparency in the private Hajj booking process.

Earlier, the ministry announced that the reservation process for the private Hajj 2026 program will end on October 17 at midnight, urging all prospective pilgrims to finalize their reservation within the stipulated time frame.

Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt said 44,000 pilgrims have finalized their booking under the private Hajj program, against the total quota of 60,000 allocated for 2026.

He pointed out that under the approved Hajj policy, it is mandatory to complete the reservation process before the deadline for all private Hajj applicants.

The ministry advised prospective pilgrims to make arrangements only with Hajj operators approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

Additionally, candidates who have already made their reservation can view and verify their details through the ministry’s website www.mora.gov.pk or through the mobile application – Pak Hajj 2026. The ministry has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, secure and efficient process for all pilgrims.
