King Charles was praised after the Duke of York and Prince Andrew released a statement saying he would no longer use his titles in public, given the backlash that emerged from Virginia Giuffre’s book, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice. As well as his own leaked emails by the Mail on Sunday, alongside those of Sarah Fergusons.
Mr Richard Kay is the commentator who made this comment in a Daily Mail article and noted how bad things were at the company when no action had been taken for many moons until “last night – finally – there was”.
Because yesterday, Prince Andrew’s “endless but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to ignore the deafening public clamor and overcome this crisis of his own making will haunt him forever.”
Mr. Kay praised King Charles for finally taking direct action against his brother during the play and noted how, “Charles finally showed his ruthless side” after the Duke’s “failure to take any responsibility.”
While the expert warns, “many wish Charles had acted sooner, that Andrew’s continued presence as a Garter Knight would have sullied the order’s historical notions of chivalry and honor – just as the dukedom he received on his wedding day in 1986 continued to offend the people of York.”
“But somehow brotherly affection has obscured royal common sense,” the commentator said for years.
And what ended up “winning” for a while in the eyes of the pundits was Andrew’s “greedy entitlement, poor judgment and boundless arrogance” because “all were repeatedly excused while the courtiers wrung their hands.”
