Fran Drescher revealed she once asked TV executives not to step down Happily divorced.
The 68-year-old actress and writer, inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 30, spoke with PEOPLE magazine and spoke about his journey in the entertainment world.
Drescher told the outlet that she has played different characters throughout her career and they all catapulted her to fame, but the role of Fran Lovett in Happily divorced was the one she wanted to represent for longer.
THE Saturday night fever one alum said, “It’s a shame TV Land pulled Happily Divorced after only 36 episodes.”
Blaming “the wrong business model” for the show’s slow start, she added: “I pointed it out to them, but they didn’t want to hear it. But in the end, I was right.”
Drescher recalls, “Two years later, I met with one of the executives and they said, ‘If it’s any consolation, this is like TV Land’s great regret.’ This should not have been canceled. This shouldn’t have gone away. It was so good. »
THE Hotel Transylvania the star went on to state that Happily divorced was “finding her place” and she was aware that it might take time to attract sponsors.
“If you’re short on money, you can’t pay for a show in the hopes that you can syndicate it or pre-sell it before you start running out of money,” she joked.
It is relevant to mention that Happily divorcedwhich starred Valente Rodriguez, Rita Moreno, Michael Higgins and Tichina Arnold, as well as Drescher, debuted in 2011, but after two years it suddenly ended.
