Princess Beatrice shows courage as she breaks her cover to support her parents.
The mother-of-two was spotted heading to the Royal Lodge to meet her vilified father Prince Andrew and was visibly seen exuding a ‘poker’ face.
Speaking to the Mirror, body language expert Judi James said: “With what looks like a makeup-free face and with her hair pulled up in a casual, wobbly knot on top of her head, Beatrice might superficially appear to be signaling some distress here, as if she had dropped everything to drive to see and support her mother, father or both, or simply to discuss their current situation.
“Given that Andrew is in the news right now, there was probably a much larger crowd of photographers waiting to photograph her as she ‘came out of cover,’ but her reaction in this photo seems counterintuitive. Rather than adopting the body language of tension, Beatrice seems to have dismissed the idea of a serious, solemn, worried expression or a more regally stoic poker face here.”
She added: “Her mouth is wide open, and she appears to be in a wide, radiant smile, showing her teeth. The smile also seems to be present in the expression of her eyes, with a crescent shape.”
Judi continued: “This choice of facial expression could be an attempt at bravado. Smiling broadly while driving alone and in the current circumstances, with all the possibly unwanted attention, would generally suggest a desire to adopt a deliberately projected air of resilience and the rather exaggerated and excessive nature of this smile could confirm this thought.”
