Prince Andrew’s current predicament has just prompted writer Christopher Smithers to write an article for Express United Kingdom where he highlighted the fall of the former duke as well as current misfortunes.
For those who don’t know, just a few days ago, Prince Andrew released a public statement via Bucknigham Palace. He promised to renounce the public use of his titles and honors, in order to “give priority to my duty to my family and my country”.
However, this did not go as planned, with many calling on Parliament to take action to properly strip Prince Andrew of these titles, instead of simply not using them in public.
More recently, comments made by his late accuser Virginia Giuffre in her memoir Nobody’s Girl took note of some of his more shocking personality traits, which were called “entitled.”
This prompted the writer to note how this decision might affect that “sense of entitlement” that the prince would have felt, according to Ms Giuffre, when it came to having sex with her.
“Andrew was untouchable for easily understandable reasons, which he clearly felt he had the right to fully exploit as the mood dictated,” the expert began by saying.
And “on a human level and in other circumstances, very few people with such an extreme sense of entitlement would be tolerated and society as a whole has a funny habit of leveling the playing field,” Smithers added.
This is why he believes that “the loss of his titles somewhat levels the playing field, the scale of the hubbub surrounding him being enough to make one dizzy”.
