State Minister discusses with KATI issues of transport infrastructure, public order
KARACHI:
Sindh Chief Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday visited Korangi Association of Commerce and Industry (KATI), where he met industrial leaders to discuss infrastructure, transportation and law and order challenges impacting industrial areas of Karachi.
Welcomed by KATI Chairman Ikram Rajput and other office bearers, Memon highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to industrial development, saying the economy thrives on the strength of its industrialists. “Taxpayers are the backbone of this country and their concerns will be prioritized,” he said.
He acknowledged that past unrest and artificial instability had kept investments away from Sindh, but assured that the province was now on the path to peace and progress. “We are here as servants of the people, not as ministers,” he added, reaffirming the PPP’s philosophy of inclusive governance.
Memon highlighted the renewed investor interest in the Dhabeji Economic Zone, especially from Chinese CPEC companies, and announced that KATI would be formally included in the planning of the upcoming 21-kilometer Yellow Line BRT project to ensure transparency and consultation.
He also noted that the Khairpur Economic Zone has received international recognition, reflecting global confidence in Sindh’s industrial potential. Addressing concerns over urban growth, Memon said modern transportation solutions are being developed to support Karachi’s growing population and industrial workforce. The minister assured that improving law and order remains a top priority and coordinated efforts are underway to create a safe and business-friendly environment in the industrial corridors of Sindh.
