- Harlan Coben Lazarus season 2 has not been ordered at the time of writing
- Coben is open to a second season ‘if it’s requested’ and it has ‘a pretty good story’
- Star Alexandra Roach ‘very open’ to reprising her role
Don’t get too excited – even though Harlan Coben’s six episodes Lazarus are now available to stream on Prime Video, there is no official discussion of a second season.
After that shocking ending to episode 6 (and no spoilers here, don’t worry), I could see how Lazarus could go either way. There are enough questions asked that Season 1 is the end of the line, but not so many that it’s impossible to return.
Since this question will be on everyone’s lips this week, I asked Harlan Coben and his cast and crew about their thoughts on Season 2…and they’re not as negative as you might think.
Harlan Coben is open to Lazarus season 2 if there’s ‘demand’ and ‘a good enough story’
Look on it
“We think the ending is very satisfying for the story,” producer Nicola Schindler tells me. “We’re giving all the answers in this final episode, so there shouldn’t be anything you’re waiting to hear.
“They’re great characters, and it’s a great setup. If you want more, that’s great, but the episodes should work on their own.”
“We never do a series that aims for a season two, that’s why we never do a season two,” adds Coben. “If it’s requested and we come up with a script as good or better, we’ll do it. If not, we’ll be happy to create a new original story.”
Just check out Netflix’s social media feed to see that Coben has no shortage of other ideas. An adaptation of the novel Run away will premiere on the streamer on New Year’s Day 2026, so no matter how it plays out, Lazarus season 2 won’t be at the forefront of Coben’s mind.
For star Alexandra Roach, the possibility of more episodes is much more encouraging. “I would love to play Jenna again, go back to this fancy house, wear these fancy clothes and pick up the story where we leave off,” she tells me.
“I think it’s so open. And I would love to see Jenna’s reaction to [the cliffhanger]. I love Harlan and Danny’s writing and the challenge of bringing it to life. I would definitely be open to more. »
