Sophie Cunningham often says what she thinks. The Indiana Fever guard noticed fellow WNBA star Angel Reese’s runway debut at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Cunningham said Reese’s historic decision made her consider strutting the catwalk herself.
During a recent episode of her “Show Me Something” podcast, Cunningham congratulated Reese and revealed that she sent her agents a message about potentially participating in the 2026 edition of the famous fashion show.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I was in second grade,” Cunningham said. “I always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel.”
Reese was tapped by Victoria’s Secret to participate in the clothing and beauty retailer’s fashion show in New York, where she will become the first athlete to walk the catwalk in the event’s history.

After attending last year’s show as a guest, Reese said she will now be one of the brand’s global ambassadors.

“I literally couldn’t stop smiling.” Reese told People. “It’s such a surreal, full-circle moment – last year I was in the audience making my presence felt on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking the runway, and now I get to return as an angel. It will be an unforgettable evening that I will always be grateful for.”
Reese added that she wants to encourage women to succeed in all fields.

“I hope I can inspire women and girls around the world and remind them that we can dominate in our field, but also pursue our goals outside of it – and for me, that means walking the most iconic runway in fashion and entertainment,” added the two-time WNBA All-Star.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned last year after a six-year hiatus.
