The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays didn’t just play a baseball game, they played a marathon.

The Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 6-5 in 18 innings Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium in Game 3 of the World Series. The match lasted six hours and 39 minutes.

Dodgers star first baseman Freddie Freeman crushed a home run in the bottom of the 18th inning to send the fans home happy.

The Dodgers-Blue Jays thriller tied the record for the longest game in World Series history.

Dodgers fans are no stranger to long World Series games, because the game they tied was theirs. The Dodgers and Boston Red Sox also went 18 innings in Game 3 of the 2018 World Series. The Red Sox won the 2018 World Series four games to one.

Country artist Brad Paisley, who is also a huge Dodgers fan, sang the national anthem before Game 3 of the 2018 World Series and Game 3 of the 2025 World Series. Paisley sang the national anthem before Game 2 of the 2017 World Series and Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, and those two respective games also went to extra innings (11 and 10 rounds).

  • 18 innings, 2018 World Series, Game 3, Dodgers beat Red Sox 3-2
  • 18 innings, 2025 World Series, Game 3, Dodgers beat Blue Jays 6-5
  • 14 innings, 2015 World Series, Game 1, Kansas City Royals defeat New York Mets 5-4
  • 14 innings, 2005 World Series, Game 3, Chicago White Sox defeated Houston Astros 7-5
  • 14 innings, 1916 World Series, Game 2, Red Sox defeat Brooklyn Robins (now Dodgers) 2-1

The Dodgers and Blue Jays are seeing a quick turnaround, as Game 4 is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will air exclusively on FOX.
