House of Dynamite put his viewers on edge as he described the United States’ reaction when a nuclear missile was about to hit them.
However, Netflix’s film about the nuclear disaster does not appear to impress the Pentagon, which said in an internal memo that the film’s depiction of the U.S. defense response was incorrect.
“We respectfully disagree,” Noah Oppenheim said. MSNBC The weekend program. He acknowledges, however, that he did not speak to the Pentagon during the preparation of the film.
However, he shares that the team did extensive research for the film, which led them to conclude: “Unfortunately, our missile defense system is very imperfect, and if the Pentagon wants to have a conversation about improving it.”
The screenwriter also shares, “I’m so glad the Pentagon was watching, or is watching and paying attention, because that’s exactly the conversation we want to have.”
“Or what could be the next step to keep us all safe, that’s exactly the conversation we want to have. But what we show in the film is accurate,” he notes.
“I am not a missile defense expert. However, I have spoken to many missile defense experts who were all officially mentioned,” Noah adds.
