ISLAMABAD:
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday stressed the need to reinvent democracy in line with the technological, informational and demographic revolutions that are shaping the 21st century.
The minister expressed his views at a seminar titled “Shaping social democracy – since 1925” in the federal capital.
The event was held to mark the centenary celebrations of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and 35 years of its partnership with Pakistan.
Iqbal proposed launching an “ideas laboratory” to study the current crisis of democracy and adapt its model to the realities of the digital age.
