- New “Wide Stage Technology” for an expanded soundstage
- 10 drivers and 10 amplifiers to control them
- 3 finishes and an ultra-rare High Edition
Bang & Olufsen has unveiled a new elite soundbar, the Beosound Premiere. With 10 custom speakers driven by 10 individual amps, it’s extraordinarily powerful and, as you can see in the photos, it’s also extraordinarily beautiful.
Bang & Olufsen describes it as a three-dimensional sculpture “that reflects the three-dimensional sound it produces” and in addition to its precision-machined housing, it features 90 LEDs that promise to provide “an ethereal glow inside the soundbar.”
The soundbar is made from pure aluminum and is available in a choice of natural, gold or charcoal black tones, and there is also a very limited Haute edition of just 25 units with a precision-milled pattern that B&O says takes 17 hours to complete.
Beosound Premiere: key features and pricing
The Beosound Premiere presents Bang & Olufsen’s new Wide Stage technology. This is a spatial audio processing system that, according to the brand, extends the soundstage far beyond the physical form of the speakers.
The circle in the middle of the soundbar is an upward-facing tweeter “designed to catch the eye like a jewel”, and it’s certainly striking. Less obvious, there are exactly 1,925 precision-machined perforations on the upward-firing driver to mark the year Bang & Olufsen was founded.
In addition to the signal processing of the new Wide Stage technology, Beosound Premiere can also be paired with other Bang & Olufsen speakers to create a complete 7.1.4 surround sound system, with Dolby Atmos support.
Beosound Premiere will be launched in stages. The Natural Aluminum model will be available from December 2025 and can be ordered today for delivery scheduled from December 3; the Gold Tone will be available in February 2026; and the Black Anthracite will be available from March 2026. The Haute Edition is available now, but not for long given the small production run.
Standard editions of the Beosound Premiere cost £3,900 / €4,900 / $5,800 (around AU$7,835) and the High Edition costs £11,000 / €13,000 / $15,700 (around AU$22,100). Bang & Olufsen also offers a selection of fabric covers and wooden covers.
At this price, I’m not sure it’ll find a place on our list of the best soundbars – we have to assume it’ll be a bit marginal when it comes to bang for your buck – but when it comes to pure presence, it looks like B&O has another huge design win on its hands.
