- Salesforce data reveals that 84% of respondents agree that they need a complete overhaul of their data strategy to benefit from agentic AI.
- 70% believe their most valuable information is in siled/unusable data
- Zero-copy architecture connects AI to data where it lives
New Salesforce data revealed that three-quarters (76%) of business leaders feel compelled to deliver business value with their data, but that incomplete, outdated, or poor-quality data is preventing them from doing so.
As a result, most (84%) agree that their strategies now need to be completely overhauled to succeed with AI.
It’s not just about being able to do more with data, as half (49%) of data leaders surveyed admitted that they sometimes reached the wrong conclusions due to poor context.
Once again we hear that data is the key to AI success.
Two in five (42%) noted a lack of confidence in the accuracy and relevance of AI results, with data leaders believing that around a quarter (26%) of their organizational data is unreliable.
“For organizations ready to execute at scale, now is the time to consolidate databases to confidently scale AI to its full potential to deliver real value and ROI,” explained Michael Andrew, Salesforce Chief Data Officer.
It is estimated that around a fifth (19%) of enterprise data is siled or unusable, yet 70% believe their most valuable information resides in this 19%.
Some of the most serious impact risks related to data silos and trapped data include non-compliance risks, decision-making difficulties, and lack of a unified customer and business view.
CEO Marc Benioff called agentic AI revolutionary. “You have to get the data right,” he stressed.
Salesforce sees the value of a zero-copy architecture in the future of data, where AI can access data where it resides without having to move, copy or duplicate it.
More than half (56%) say they have already started adopting zero copies, and many are already seeing the benefits. Adopters are seeing the quality of customer service exceed industry standards, and many are also ahead of schedule in terms of AI initiatives compared to their peers.
“Organizations that treat data and AI as an integrated strategy are the ones that will successfully move from pilot to execution to see AI have a significant impact,” Andrew concluded.
