- A new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer has been released by Nintendo
- Titled “Survive,” it features various environments and gameplay clips.
- We also get another glimpse of Samus on her motorcycle in open segments
Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which is set to release in less than a month now, on December 4, 2025.
The short trailer is just over a minute long, but it’s packed with new details regarding bounty hunter Samus Aran’s next adventure. Namely, we see a lot more in terms of environmental design, enemy encounters, boss fights and much more.
Look on it
In terms of environments, this new trailer for “Survive” mixes areas we’ve seen before and some we haven’t. New locations include a fiery cavern with a towering spire in the background, a network of icy tunnels, and a rather precarious-looking bridge on which Samus appears to struggle to keep her balance.
Another interesting touch I noticed is that Samus’s beam cannon seems to suffer wear and tear, subject to the harsh weather of the most extreme climates, as we see in the coldest places. His visor also appears to be covered in frost spots.
The trailer also shows off some other new psychic abilities of Samus, but still doesn’t reveal much here. One interesting use seems to be the ability to reveal hidden platforms, and I have to imagine that these will occasionally be used to hide upgrades like energy tanks and missile expansions, in addition to regular progression.
Of course, this wouldn’t be anything new Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer without another look at Samus on her bike, which was originally shown during the last big Nintendo Direct. Not much new here, but we see Samus shooting enemies from the sky, freely performing wheelies, and booking the trailer with a sweet Akira-type slide.
The trailer ends with another glimpse of Sylux, a rival bounty hunter for the Nintendo DS. First Metroid Fighters and apparently one of the main antagonists of Beyond. Once again, he doesn’t do much other than look vaguely menacing, levitating ominously above Samus. But he gives the impression of having a score to settle.
It was a brief teaser, but definitely enough to keep me going until Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Released December 4 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. I’ve already waited eight years; what is one more month?
