- Netflix will host free late-night screenings of Stranger Things Season 1 Episode 1 in London, UK on November 13
- Two nightly screenings are planned but fans will be selected at random
- Viewers can apply for the ballot using the ApplauseStore ticket portal
If you live in or near London, there’s never been a better time to become a Stranger Things fan. Netflix has revealed that it will host an exclusive late-night screening of Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 1, titled “Chapter One: The Crawl,” on November 13 – two weeks before its world premiere.
However, it’s not as simple as just jumping into the day or fighting through a typical Ticketmaster-style queue. To be eligible, fans will need to enter the ballot via ApplauseStore using the promo code “ST5FANS”.‘ even to consider.
Fans will then be selected at random in the draw, so choose the screening you prefer and hope for the best. Unfortunately, this opportunity is reserved for those over 18 years old.
My advice? Make sure you have first created an ApplauseStore account (and activated it) before attempting to use the promo code. If you don’t, you’re going to be stuck every time you try to set it up.
For everyone else, the existing Stranger Things season 5 release schedule still stands.
Look on it
There’s not very good news for the rest of us – or for those who aren’t selected, who will have to wait for the original release. Stranger Things Season 5 premiere date November 26.
In case you forgot the three-part release schedule for the hit series, here’s what you can expect over the next two months:
- Season 5 volume 1 – November 26/27; includes episodes 1-4
- Season 5 volume 2 – December 25/26; includes episodes 5-7
- Season 5 volume 3 – December 31, 2025 / January 1, 2026; only contains the final
Each of these volumes will be released at 5 p.m. PT, so mark your calendars now.
But what to expect? As Netflix tells us, “Fall 1987. Hawkins is marked by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna. But he has disappeared – his whereabouts and his plans are unknown. To complicate their mission, the government placed the city under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her into hiding.
“As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, a heavy, familiar terror approaches as well. The final battle looms – and with it, a darkness more powerful and deadlier than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone – the entire group – to stand together, one last time.”
If you’re lucky enough to take part in the pre-screening, it’ll be worth it – episode 1 alone is 68 minutes long.
