DI KHAN:

Unidentified terrorists kidnapped and then martyred a police constable in Tank district, officials said on Friday.

The slain officer, Constable Qeemat Khan, was buried with full state honors at Tank Police Lines.

Unidentified gunmen kidnapped constable Qeemat Khan of Sheikh Azam Khora in Daud Khel village while he was returning home after duty. The attackers then shot him dead.

A large number of police officers, personnel and officials of security forces, including District Police Officer (DPO) Tank Shabbir Hussain Shah, attended the funeral prayer. Senior officers laid wreaths on the martyr’s coffin and a contingent of well-dressed police officers offered a salute.

After the funeral, special prayers were offered for the upliftment of the ranks of martyrs, national security and lasting peace in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, police officials paid glowing tributes to the deceased police officer, vowing that his sacrifice would not be in vain. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue the fight against terrorism until complete peace is restored in Tank and throughout the country. Operations against anti-state elements, they said, would be intensified to ensure public security and stability.
