As Villain: for good is close, Ariana Grande gives insight into how her look, especially her approach, changes with the film’s theme for promotions.
During her first press tour, the star, in an interview with ANDrecalls, “It’s fun to play with storytelling on a press tour. On the first press tour, I kind of wanted to celebrate Glinda in a more direct way.”
However, in the second part, his approach ends up conveying the themes. “And now I can sort of appear as the actress who played her and perform in the darker tones of the film.”
This comes after its director, Jon M. Chu, said that the actress devoted herself entirely to the role during filming.
He noted in an interview with The New York Times that this was notable because, at the time, she was in the process of divorcing Dalton Gomez.
“I had to see her on the days when she was upset in her real life and I have to open up even more to deliver [even] for us,” added the filmmaker, emphasizing: “She was hiding nothing from this camera.”
Ariana and Dalton, meanwhile, separated in 2023 after two years of marriage.
Villain: for good will be released in theaters on November 21.
