The Balochistan government has imposed a three-day ban on all public transport in the province from tomorrow (Wednesday).
According to a notification from the provincial transport authority dated November 10, 2025, the movement of buses, wagons, coaches and other public transport vehicles will remain suspended from November 12 to November 14, 2025.
Carriers were informed that route permits would be canceled if found to be in violation of the ban. Strict checks have already been launched at public transport stops in Quetta, including Saryab and Jabal Noor bus stations.
Balochistan Transporters Association President Abdul Rehman Kakar said the ban was a direct blow to the livelihood of transporters. Other members of the transportation union also voiced their objections.

Police and the Frontier Corps were deployed on all highways leading out of the city to enforce the ban.
Train services like Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail had already been suspended from November 9 to 12. The suspension is expected to be extended until November 15, reports suggest.
The notification said the ban was imposed to ensure public safety, especially in the context of recent railway blasts, such as the one in October in Sukkur, which injured at least seven people, as well as potential attacks highlighted in intelligence reports.
The district administration said the ban would be lifted immediately once the situation improves, urging citizens to avoid spreading false information on social media and adhere to official guidelines.
