Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed all relevant ministries and institutions to expedite work on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre, ensuring the completion of state-of-the-art medical facilities as part of a coordinated strategy.

Chairing a high-level review meeting, the prime minister said all administrative and technical bottlenecks hampering the progress of the project must be resolved through inter-agency coordination, according to a statement issued by the prime minister’s office.

He stressed that the project must meet international standards in construction and healthcare delivery, and requested that a subsidiary medical center be established to serve the local population.

Shehbaz also ordered that international medical experts be engaged where necessary to ensure that the complex meets global benchmarks for excellence in healthcare and research.

During the briefing, the officials informed the Prime Minister that land acquisition for Jinnah Medical Complex has been completed and a design consultant has been finalized. They added that third-party validation would be carried out as per the Prime Minister’s instructions to ensure transparency and quality assurance.

Reaffirming his commitment to the project, the Prime Minister said the Jinnah Medical Complex was a flagship initiative to strengthen Pakistan’s health infrastructure and research capacity. He stressed the need to complete it quickly so that the public benefits from it in a timely manner.
