Eagles coach Nick Sirianni fed up with AJ Brown’s questions despite 7-2 record

Another frustrating moment from AJ Brown once again had Philadelphia Eagles reporters asking head coach Nick Sirianni about his star receiver.

And Sirianni is tired of hearing about it.

“Guys, I’m about done answering these questions about this,” he said when asked about Brown’s latest comments, which took place during a “Madden” stream with YouTube personality Janky Rondo. “He works hard and he’s a big part of the game plan and he’s going to move forward. He works like crazy when he’s here, and we’re excited to have him.”

During the “Madden” stream, Janky Rondo asked Brown how everything was going, both professionally and personally.

Brown responded “No” with a laugh and began to explain.

“Where have you been?” he said to Janky Rondo, laughing. “Like, it’s good for the family, yeah. Everything else? No. … It’s a shit show. … You’re like, ‘How’s it going?’ I’m having trouble, brother.”

The defending Super Bowl champions are on their way back to the playoffs, owning a 7-2 record through their first nine games of the season. However, Brown’s frustrations with not hitting targets in most of those games have been a major storyline since the start of the season.

On “Monday Night Football,” the Eagles earned a 10-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers on the road. Brown had two catches on the first drive, but he didn’t see another target until the Eagles’ final offensive play — a Jalen Hurts overthrow in the end zone that fell incomplete.

Sirianni was first asked if Brown was becoming a distraction with his off-field comments about his individual performances.

“No, I don’t think so,” he replied. “You can’t ignore your interactions and how they go about their work every day, which you can’t see. No, it’s business as usual.”

But the 28-year-old star receiver clearly isn’t happy with his role in the Eagles’ offense, despite what the win-loss record says. There were even rumors that Brown might request a trade before this year’s deadline, but he will remain with the team for the remainder of the season.

This is a receiver who has produced three straight 1,000 yard seasons, his last even being Saquon Barkley who had a 2,000+ rushing yard campaign in his first year in Philadelphia. Brown also had at least seven touchdowns in each of those three seasons.

In 2025, Brown has totaled 408 yards and three touchdowns on 31 catches in eight games. He is currently on pace to have the lowest single-season production of his career, 869 yards in his final year with the Tennessee Titans, despite only playing in 13 games.

During the “Madden” game, he joked that he had to “show him some love,” referring to his own Eagles player as he threw a long completion for a touchdown.

“Good things happen when we touch,” he added.

Brown then showed his son his “Madden” stats for the game, where his own player had nine receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Janky Rondo said it must be cool to be able to show his son playing in a video game.

“I tell you, brother,” Brown replied. “It’s the only damn football highlight I’m experiencing at the moment.”

And for fantasy managers who have been frustrated owning Brown all season long, he also gave some advice during the stream.

“If you put me on Fantasy, man, get rid of me,” he said.

While that continues to be a storyline, the Eagles are gearing up for a major “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. They will welcome another NFC contender to Lincoln Financial Field for the primetime matchup.
