Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming has opened up about her feelings and raw thoughts after her husband was diagnosed with dementia.
The legendary actor’s wife confessed to grief expert and author David Kessler that she felt “anger and resentment” after Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, via RadarOnline.com.
It is pertinent to mention that the 70-year-old actor retired in 2022 amid his battle with aphasia.
During the touching conversation, Emma told the expert: “When we got that diagnosis, you know, we came out of there with nothing. Without hope, without support, without a road map.
“It was just a case of ‘come back in a few months,’ and we got sent away.”
She went on to say: “And I thought, ‘How is this possible? How are people diagnosed and pushed out the door without any support?’
And that question became his inspiration to write a book and share his experience in his memoir, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path.
Additionally, Emma also spoke about the emotions she experienced after Bruce’s diagnosis.
She wrote: “The most shocking thing for me was the anger and resentment I started to feel. I was so ashamed and felt like a horrible person for having these feelings.”
