MUZAFFARABAD:

Muzaffarabad District Council Chairman Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi termed the approval of Nowshera Hydel Power Project as a historic development for the people of Constituency IV, lauding the dedicated efforts of Power Development Organization (PDO) Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed.
He said that the hydel project, costing Rs. 1.58 billion would significantly improve electricity supply not only in Dachor Meeran union council but in the entire constituency.

With the completion of this project, there will be a substantial reduction in load shedding, as well as the creation of new employment opportunities.
Speaking to the media, Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi revealed that he had proposed this project to the authorities in 2007, during the Muslim Conference government. However, at that time, the then Secretary of Energy had transferred this project from the public sector to the private sector, which led to a long delay in its execution.
He added that Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed had taken a personal interest in the project, bringing it back to the public sector and taking it to the approval stage – a clear reflection of his leadership qualities and commitment to public service.
Sardar Imtiaz Ahmad Abbasi said that the people of Dachor Meeran Union Council, in particular, would benefit from this project. The end of load shedding would also facilitate educational activities for students in the region.
He further mentioned that the previously constructed RCC bridge at Ratti Dhairi was also a blessing for the locals, providing convenient access to residents of Kai Manja and Dachor Meeran.
The district council chairman expressed hope that Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed would continue to meet public expectations regarding educational programs, road construction and other development projects.
He added that due to the personal interest of the Minister, the federal approval of the Nowshera Hydel Hydropower Project, following the Haryala Kai Manja Hydropower Project and the Pithyali Hydropower Project, marks a major achievement. The completion of these projects will bring significant improvement to the power sector, create employment opportunities for the youth and strengthen the state’s economy.
