A senior lawyer said there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge bothers the chief justice.
ISLAMABAD:
After the resignation of two Supreme Court judges, a High Court judge is also considering tendering his resignation from office. Sources revealed to The Express PK Press Club that a judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) may also tender his resignation soon.
On the other hand, no resignation is expected from the Supreme Court.
It is learned that a farewell dinner was organized in honor of Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan at the Chief Justice’s Palace, where other judges of the apex court were also invited. A senior lawyer said there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge bothers the chief justice.
Meanwhile, it is learned that the Supreme Court branch has sought directions from the Supreme Court regarding fixation of cases after the passage of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
The branch has put a notice to the SC Registrar and Additional Judicial Registrar, stating that it has become essential for this institution to obtain clear and authoritative guidelines regarding distribution and disposal of cases between the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) and the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).
