Madison Beer gets bored performing some of her old songs live.

The 26-year-old star “cherishes” being able to sing and chose Nothing Matters But You as one of her favorites to sing in front of an audience.

She told Rolling Stone magazine: “[Singing] is my gift and the thing I cherish the most. I should feel that way about every song.

“I won’t name names. I don’t want to be mean about other songs, but there are a few songs that I would play and honestly I would be so bored and feel like I literally couldn’t do anything, like I was just sleeping,” she said.

After receiving praise for her live vocals, Madison was determined to challenge herself in the studio when it came to recording her third album Locket, which is scheduled for release in January.

She said: “There is one song that is very vocally demanding. »

The Reckless hitmaker continued: “When I recorded this song and I still had Twitter, I tweeted, ‘Oh my God, I literally don’t know if I’m going to be able to talk for a week.’ That’s a feeling I really enjoyed with this album.

“I really liked my desire to push myself and see what I was capable of. So I hope people like the vocals on this project because we spent a lot of time making it,” Madison added.

The bittersweet singer admitted that performing live helped her gain perspective and shut out her critics too.

She said: “I get a lot of hate on the internet and I think all that doesn’t matter anymore when you’re watching a sold-out crowd. »

Although the Baby singer has yet to share the tracklist for Locket, she admitted that she has had the album title in mind for a long time.
