ISLAMABAD:
Senate President Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Sunday that tolerance and patience are essential qualities for building peace and stability in any society.
In his message on the occasion of the International Day of Tolerance, the Senate President said that without encouraging tolerant attitudes, social harmony cannot be achieved.
He said that meaningful dialogue and mutual respect are key pillars of democratic traditions, and that Parliament responsibly plays its role in promoting national unity, tolerance and social cohesion. Gilani stressed that all sections of society must unite against extremism.
