Last week, a man rushed Ariana Grande at Villain: for good premiere in Singapore. He has now been sentenced to nine days in prison.
The local court says the person, whose name is Johnson Wen, was charged with public nuisance after pleading guilty to the incident.
During the hearing, the man in question said he “wouldn’t do it again” after being caught trying to rush to the mat on two occasions.
Ariana, for her part, has not broken her silence on this subject. But it’s worth noting that Johnson has a history of gushing over celebrities at events, including Priyanka Chopra, Katy Perry, The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers, among others.
He then posted these clips on social media. “@arianagrande @wickedmovie Dear Ariana Grande, thank you for letting me hop on the yellow carpet with you,” read the caption Johnson used about her post about the pop icon.
It is pertinent to mention that Cynthia Erivo, Ariana’s co-star, pushed away the person who rushed at him, triggering a wave of praise towards the actress.
