During her speech at Cipriani 42nd Street, the actress raised a glass of milk to the audience before downing it in one go, a gesture that left some members of the crowd perplexed.
According to Daily Mailthe gesture was a clever homage to a now-viral scene from Little girlin which Kidman’s character, Romy, who was a married business executive and shares a busy time with her young intern, Samuel, played by Harris Dickinson.
In the scene, Samuel orders a glass of milk for Romy at a bar, and she boldly drinks it while he watches, setting the stage for their steamy affair.
Meanwhile, Kidman later explained that milk plays a symbolic role throughout the film, representing the power dynamic in the relationship.
According to the publication, the actress revealed in an interview that she drank over 15 glasses of milk while filming the iconic bar scene.
Additionally, Kidman praised the film for its bold storytelling and said she was drawn to the story for its unique voice.
