“God is real. God is powerful,” the message read. “I’m sorry, I have no words right now… Just grateful! I’m coming, I’m starting to breathe on my own now. I sincerely appreciate everyone.”
The update came after Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Boyd was “optimistic” during their recent conversation.
“That’s what reassures me is that he’s in good spirits,” Glenn told reporters during his press briefing before the team’s Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens. “His wife and child are in good spirits and he will do very well.”
Boyd was listed in critical but stable condition. Glenn said he doesn’t have a timetable for when Boyd could possibly be released from the hospital.
“I don’t know yet,” the coach said. “But I will say this: Just talking to him, he felt really optimistic. And again, that’s what comforts me, that he feels that way and speaks that way.”

EX-NFL PLAYER OFFERS WARNING ABOUT NEW YORK CITY AFTER JETS CORNERBACK IS ALLEGEDLY INJURED BY SHOOTING
New York police have released photos of a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting. Authorities did not identify the man by name.
“The wanted individual is described as a man of medium complexion,” police said. “He was last seen wearing a black cap, a black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers and a black school bag.”
Glenn said Boyd has been on his mind “a lot” since the incident.
“The first thing I thought was that he had just had a child,” Glenn said. “And I think about his wife, I think about his child and I want to make sure he’s OK. And that’s the only thing that really came to mind.
“There’s a process to follow, which I won’t get into, but I’m happy with the fact that he’s going to do really, really well.”
